Israel Cancer Association (ICA) initiates a Street Ball Exhibition Game 2012

On May 11, 2012, the ICA held a "Play and donate to the fight against Cancer" Street Ball Exhibition Game, in collaboration with Herzliya Municipality, and with the assistance of Mr. Tal Brody, President of Bnei Herzliya Association and former internationally renowned Maccabi basketball star.

This collaborative effort saw its fourth year of activity, aimed to heighten cancer awareness among the general population and emphasize the importance of physical activity at any age to prevent diseases.

 

Street ball is a variation of the sport of basketball, typically played on outdoor courts and featuring significantly less by way of formal structure and enforcement of the game's rules.

Stars from reality shows such as the "Amazing Race Israel" and "Big Brother" were represented at the street ball game.

 

The competing teams, Blue vs. White, invested many efforts in cultivating team spirit and bonding. And from the very start of the game, the players fought over the ball like lions.

The tournament and exhibition game were held to raise funds for diverse potentially life-saving ICA activities - For the Patients and Against the Disease. Proceeds from the tournament were dedicated to ICA activity.
