A "Healthy Lifestyle" Seminar and Beauty Care Day for female cancer patients was organized at the Israel Cancer Association Headquarters. This event was held as part of the "Look Good...Feel Better" project.
About 60 participants of all ages attended the seminar and heard a lecture on "Steps to a Healthy Life", featuring tips on the importance of involvement in physical activity. Exercises were also demonstrated to help cancer patients make them part of their daily routine.
This was followed by a lecture on Nutrition and a Healthy Lifestyle, in addition to a make-up workshop held courtesy of Elcalil Estee Lauder Companies.
The make-up artists personally applied make-up to each participant and provided them with tips on how to apply make-up properly and match colors and textures to suit their individual needs.
The ICA "Look Good... Feel Better" project is conducted at many medical institutions throughout Israel and is geared toward cancer patients at different stages in the disease trajectory. Cosmeticians and hair stylists volunteer their services, delivering skin treatment and beauty care workshops which enable patients at any stage of the disease to look good and thereby lift their spirits and enhance their self-image.
