The Popular Race was one of the important events of a weekend filled with exciting events and activities surrounding the Marathon in Jerusalem.
The Israel Cancer Association took an active part in these activities; during the exhibition on a healthy life and sports, where it had put up an impressive informative stand on cancer and during the prestigious launching event which took place in the Mamila Hotel where awards were distributed to senior Israeli Marathon runners.
On the launching gala event, ICA's Director General, Mrs. Miri Ziv, welcomed and thanked the participants, the Jerusalem Municipality and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, thanks to whom the Popular Race could take place. An appreciation shield was presented to Mrs. Ziv by Mr. Nir Barkat, the Mayor of Jerusalem, who initiated the Marathon, on which one could read: "To the Israel Cancer Association, with respects to its contribution to the success of the Jerusalem Marathon".
1000 participants took part in the Popular Race of the Israel Cancer Association which took place on Friday, March 25, at 10.30.The ambiance was electrifying and turned out to be a major happening. Medals were distributed to all the participants at the end of the race.
The happening in the Sacker Park continued till the afternoon and attracted thousands of people who enjoyed the different stands as well as the ICA stands.
The event turned out to be unforgettable and will be cherished by the organizers and by the many participants.
