Please note that the "Melodies for Life" concert, organized by the Israel Cancer Association and by Mrs. Shira Meni, took place on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Tel-Aviv Museum.
Mrs. Shira Meni, whose father Menashe is suffering of multiple myeloma, initiated the "Melodies for Life" concert, together with the Israel Cancer Association and the Carasso-Trade-In company.
The cellist understood, while facing the sickness of her father, that it was of utmost importance to raise public awareness on his disease and to recruit funds for further advancement of research in the field.
The concert included selected musical classical and pop pieces that were played by Shira Meni herself, by the violist Moshe Aharonov, by the clarinetist Dani Erdmann and by the pianist Ron Trechtman. Poems of the famous poet Lea Goldberg were recited and sang by Roy Sarook. The Naked Voices Ensemble sang very original a Capella songs that will long be remembered.
The concert was a huge success and ended on a beautiful note of hope as the well-known Israeli singer Shlomo Shabban intoned his most famous songs which impressed the entire audience
