Parents Training for Parents with Cancer

When one of the parents (or grandparents) is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family goes into a long, complex coping period including the children. Sometimes, in wanting to protect their children, parents choose to hide information in order to try and prevent anxiety and hardship from them.

Using information, support and practical tools to assist the parents in this difficult period, the Israel Cancer Association trains parents, when one of them has cancer, on how to cope with the following issues:

  • How to tell the children?

  • Coping during the treatment period

  • Coping with periods of crisis and disease and how they affect the entire family, etc.

The training is free of charge.
