ICA congratulates Prof. Eliezer Robinson on on his recent nomination

Professor Eliezer Robinson, Chairman of the Israel Cancer Association (ICA) and Past-President of the International Union against Cancer (UICC), was appointed member of the Committee for Cancer Survivorship at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Professor Robinson is the only member of the Committee who is not from the United States.


In parallel, he was also appointed member of the international experts’ panel that advises the periodical “The ASCO Post” which is published by the American Society of Clinical Oncology. “The ASCO Post” is a prestigious magazine for all the oncologists who take care of the disease in all kind of different professional ways and manners.


Professor Eliezer Robinson started his career as oncologist in 1957 at the Hadassah Medical Center. In 1968, he established the Oncological Center at Rambam Medical Center, and the oncology field in general in the Northern part of Israel. Between 1971 and 1995 he served as Vice-President of the Israel Cancer Association and in 1996 he was appointed President of the Israel Cancer Association, which he has been on a voluntary base ever since.

 

Professor Robinson was also appointed President of the Israeli Society for Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy (ISCORT), President of the International Union against Cancer (UICC) and is the current President of the National Council for Prevention, Diagnosis and Cancerous Diseases.
More than 200 articles were written by Professor Robinson, who was also the receiver of the Yakir Haifa Award for accomplishments in honor of Haifa in 2002 and the receiver of the Award of Excellence from the Minister of Health on his life work in 2003. In 2009 he was awarded the Price of the Israel Medical Federation for his community work.
