The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) ICRETT Focus made an overview for the Israel Cancer Association.
The overview mentions that the Israel Cancer Association has been a long-term supporter of the ICRETT fellowships. Its annual financial grants have contributed to build capacity in cancer control and stronger leaders in cancer research worldwide.
The impact of this support can be seen in Israel as well. During the 10 past years, Israel has been leveraging the program with an average of 2 fellows per year going for a month fellowship abroad. Since recent years, Israel has started becoming attractive for fellows in very precise research areas.
The UICC ICRETT Fellowships aim to facilitate rapid international transfer of cancer research and clinical technology, exchange knowledge and enhance skills in basic, clinical, behavioral and epidemiological areas of cancer research, cancer control and prevention and to acquire appropriate clinical management, diagnostic and therapeutic expertise for effective application and use in the home organization upon return.
