Ladies who “Cook and Lunch” raise over £7,500 for the Israel Cancer Association (ICA)

High profile author and chef Katie Caldesi was joined by over 200 guests at the 'Cook, Taste, Share' recipe book launch.

The event, hosted at the home of the devoted London Friends of the ICA Chairperson, Mrs. Vered Aaron, and organised by the Cooking Lunch Girls, raised over £7,500 for the Israel Cancer Association (ICA).

Guests who attended the fundraiser event enjoyed an array of delicious salads, fish dishes and desserts, before being captivated by special guest Mrs. Katie and her husband, Mr. Giancarlo Caldesi.

 

Part of the proceeds from book sales went to the Israel Cancer Association, which provides services for children and young people who have cancer and a wide range of learning disabilities and educational needs.

Mrs. Evette Simmonds, a member of the Cooking Lunch Girls group said: "I am thrilled with the success of today's book launch as over 200 guests attended and the book was a sell-out! We were delighted to have had Katie & Giancarlo Caldesi with us today, and we are grateful to everyone who came and supported us. I would like to thank The Cooking Lunch Girls for their hard work and for their assistance".

 

Katie Caldesi, who runs the Caldesi Cucini Italian cooking school along with her husband, and has appeared on cookery programmes including Masterchef and Saturday Kitchen, said: "I know first-hand how difficult it is to have an idea and follow it through and am extremely impressed by 'Cook, Taste, Share,' and the Cooking Lunch Girls' enthusiasm and keenness to learn. I am happy to be here today to support them."
