Sunday, 22 September 2013, saw a "Fun-Filled Activity Day" for patients, survivors and their families at the Sportali in Kiryat Motzkin. This moving initiative was conceived by the sheer will power of a young man named Mr. Johnny Makola, who regrettably lost his mother at the age of 11, and wished to launch an activity day in tribute to relatives, grandchildren, and children of those who fight the disease on a daily basis and are witness to the tireless battle of their family members.
The Kiryat Motzkin Branch volunteerism led by Mr. Motti Dagan and Mrs. Sally Katz, rolled up their sleeves to help promote this commendable endeavor in collaboration with the neighboring Krayot branches: Kiryat Bialik, Kiryat Haim, Kiryat Shmuel and Kiryat Yam.
Hundreds took part in this event and enjoyed sports and fitness activities at the facility, including swimming pools, Jacuzzi, and amusement park rides. The children also participated in fun-filled activities such as hot air balloon rides, face make-up, blowing soap bubbles, and more.
The older participants took part in make-up workshops and beauty consultation sessions, Zumba and belly dancing classes, and athletic activities for the entire family.
The entire event, including refreshments and gifts that were distributed at the "Fun-Filled Activity Day", were donated by businesses and plants in northern Israel whose representatives commended this touching initiative that provided the opportunity to lend a hand and hug to those who are in dire need of moments of respite and happiness.
The head of the local authority, Mr. Haim Tzuri, and his wife Dafna, delivered opening remarks at the happening and asked that the ICA renew its commitment to activity in the form of such events, all year round, and mainly through "Door Knock" Fundraising Campaign activity.
The activity was held courtesy of the following companies: Ariel Bakery, Hashachar Ha'oleh Plant, Shemen Morrokai (Moroccan Oil) Plant, Tav Medical Plant, Plasan Plant, Burecas Bachar Ha'agala Company, Nofech Mishelachem Company, Johnny Productions, Tehila Ba'adasha, and Afifit (Hadar) Plant.
