Beauticians, make-up artists, wig dressers and hairdressers volunteer their services in this project.
Female patients from all over the country receive beauty care treatment and guidance on how to care for/adjust their hair or wigs so that they can look better and consequently feel better. ICA operates and finances the project in which volunteer cosmeticians visit women with breast cancer who are hospitalized in oncology wards or receive treatment in oncology clinics.
The patients are provided with beauty care, hair and wig care and consultation services free of charge, to lift their spirits, make them feel better and help them cope with the disease and its side effects.
Francine Robinson (PhD), a "Reach to Recovery" volunteer, initiated and operated the project on a volunteer basis. ICA held a Beauty Care Day and fashion show in which cancer patients and survivors strutted down the runway alongside beauty pageant queens. Sponsor a special cosmetic treatment for a cancer patient as part of the "Look Good Feel Better" project - US$ 1.800 (for 10 female patients). Kindly contact us, should you wish to contribute to this project. Please note that all donations received are transferred in full (no overhead is taken).
